PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN TORONTO CONDUCTS FINAL TESTING AND SEALING FOR THE CONDUCT OF 2022 OVERSEAS VOTING

07 April 2022, Toronto – The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Toronto successfully conducted the Final Testing and Sealing (FTS) of the Vote Counting Machines (VCM) and other election paraphernalia on 07 April 2022, that will be used in the conduct of the Overseas Voting for the 2022 National Elections.

Two (2) VCMs were tested for the 39,136 registered voters of the Consulate General. A total of 20 SD cards were also tested and sealed. The VCMs and other election materials worked properly and there were no issues encountered during the FTS.

Present during the FTS were the local media and watchers representing political groups and candidates. Aside from the watchers, consular clients of the Consulate General also participated in the mock elections using the test ballots.

The official ballots will be sent to the registered voters under the Consulate General. All accomplished ballots received by the Consulate General will be fed to the VCMs every Monday and Thursday, starting 11 April 2022 from 9:00 AM, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), throughout the election period. Voting will end on 9 May 2022 at 7:00 AM, EDT (9 May, 7:00 PM, Philippine Time). END
