PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL CONDUCTS FOURTH CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION IN WINNIPEG, SERVES MORE THAN 500

04-05 November 2023, Winnipeg – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto conducted its fourth Consular Outreach Mission of the year to Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Holiday Inn Express Winnipeg Airport.

A total of 159 Philippine passports were renewed; 164 documents consularized; 4 NBI Clearance applications processed; 3 civil registry reports recorded, and 2 urgent travel document applications handled. There were 113 former Filipinos and their dependents who took their oath to re-acquire their Filipino citizenship under Republic Act 9225. Furthermore, 93 overseas voters were processed for registration and correction of entries in their records. In all, the team rendered 538 services over the two-day mission.

The outreach team was accompanied by representatives of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Toronto and the Philippine Social Security System (SSS).

During the outreach, team leader Deputy Consul General Kerwin Orville Tate and Philippine Honorary Consul Ronaldo Opina had the opportunity to speak with Senator Flordeliz (Gigi) Osler. Senator Osler, who has Filipino roots, stated that she looks forward to 2024, when the Philippines and Canada will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and promised support for the commemorative activities related to the milestone.

The next Consular Outreach to Winnipeg will be conducted in the first quarter of 2024. END
