Press Release no. 2023-15

Toronto, 05 April 2023– The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto led by Acting Head of Post Rodney Jonas L. Sumague and Cultural Officer Maricel Samonte, together with the members of the Filipino-Canadian media, visited the Danforth branch of Casa Manila, a new entrant to this year’s Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC).

The owners of Casa Manila, Ms. Mila Nabor-Cuachon and Mr. Rizalde Cuachon, are proudly promoting the prix fixe offerings of its York Mills and Danforth branches which are both participating in the 2023 FRMC.

Casa Manila serves a “Kamayan style” plate with a choice between Premium Mixed Set and Premium Seafood Set. These sets consist of chicken crackling chicharon, crispy pork belly or lechon kawali, milkfish or daing na bangus (quarter cut), crispy baby squid or pritong pusit, coconut ginger vegetables, tropical vegetables with shrimp paste or pinakbet. Each of the Kamayan Premium Set is served with a choice of the Ultimate Halo-Halo, Buko Pandan con Hielo or Mais Con Hielo.

Casa Manila’s unique way of serving the dishes is done with the service staff playing a native Philippine drum and then clapping and saying “kamayan” in unison. Casa Manila boasts of using only healthy and home-made ingredients. END
