PH Ambassador attends Pangasinan Association of Canada event in Toronto

13 September 2019, Toronto-Philippine Ambassador to Canada, Her Excellency Petronila P. Garcia attended the 19th Founding Anniversary of the Pangasinan Association of Canada held at the Garnet A. Williams Community Centre in Thornhill, north of Toronto last September 7, 2019. Consul Edna May Grecia-Lazaro of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto also attended the event.


Ambassador Garcia presented the PACA Outstanding Citizen of Pangasinan awards in the fields of Law, Medicine, Media and Mass Communication, Business and Finance, Public Service and Volunteer Service.


Ambassador Garcia was the Guest Speaker during the 19th Anniversary of Pangasinan Association of Canada last September 7, 2019 held at the Garnet A. Williams Community Centre in Thornhill, north of Toronto.

In her speech, Ambassador Garcia mentioned that “Pangasinense, together with Ilokano, Cebuano and Hiligaynon, among others, was one of the Philippine-based languages identified in the latest census of Canada as a first language spoken at home.” She commended the members of the organization for continuing to exhibit the Bayanihan spirit through PACA’s charitable projects in Pangasinan, including the donation of a school building in Binalonan and Villasis, as well a multi-purpose building in Urbiztondo.
