PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN TORONTO JOINS THE 22ND ANNIVERSARY OF TWINNING BETWEEN THE CITIES OF BAGUIO AND VAUGHAN

30 October 2019- Consul General Orontes Castro attended the 22nd Anniversary of the Friendship Agreement between Baguio City and the Vaughan City, Ontario at the Patricia Kemp Community Center, Vaughan, Ontario on 26 October 2019. Also present at the event were Vaughan City Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, Members of the City Council, Minister Michael Tibollo, MPP, Constituency Office for Vaughan-Woodbridge, Filipino-Canadian Association of Vaughan (FCAV) President Erlinda Insigne and other Filcom leaders.

Mayor Bevilacqua praised the Filipino community in Vaughan for not only being hard-working immigrants but also partners in the development of the city. Congen Castro, in his remarks, encouraged both sides to continue their partnership through an enhanced and regular people-to-people visits, most especially by bilateral trade and investment partners. The celebration also involved presentations by the Filipino community including Filipino martial arts, line dancing and zumba. – END
