Philippine Consul General in Toronto visits the Philippine collection at the Royal Ontario Museum

12 February 2020, Toronto- Consul General Orontes V. Castro and Deputy Consul General Edna May Grecia-Lazaro were welcomed today by officials of the Royal Ontario Museum. 12 February 2020, Toronto-Consul General Orontes V. Castro and Deputy Consul General Edna May Grecia-Lazaro were welcomed today by officials of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), Dr. Mark D. Engstrom, Deputy Director for Collections and Research, Dr. Sascha Priewe, Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships of the Directors Office and Dr. Sylvia Forni, Senior Curator for African Arts and Cultures and Deputy Head of the Department of Art and Culture.


Drs. Priewe and Forni gave Consul General Castro a tour of the Philippine collection. During the visit, Consul General Castro discussed the various ways by which the Philippine collection can be enhanced and augmented. They also explored possible projects and collaborations. Another meeting with the ROM officials will be scheduled in the coming months to further discuss areas of future cooperation between the ROM and the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto.
