Philippine Consul General in Toronto meets with Vice-Provost of Univ. of Toronto

27 February 2020 – Philippine Consul General Orontes Castro in Toronto paid a courtesy call on Professor Joseph Wong, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, International Student Experience of the University of Toronto on 24 February 2020.


Among the issues discussed during the meeting were the plan to teach Pilipino language at the university’s ASEAN Center with the support of the Filipino Community in Toronto as well as future collaborative projects between Dr. Tammy Sage, Associate Professor, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Univ. of Toronto, and professors of the University of the Philippines, Los Banos.


The meeting was also a follow up of the previous meeting that Consul General Castro, UPLB Chancellor Fernando Sanchez, Vice-Chancellor Rex Demafelis and Vice-Chancellor Portia Lapitan had with University of Toronto officials in November 2019. – END
